Dr.
Rhodes was selected to monitor the use of the Rhodes Device in a
reasearch study put together by Shands Hospital in Jacksonville
Florida.
This
study was created to evaluate the effect of rapid starts or stops
on the neck and spine, in other words whiplash type accidents. Shands
Hospital - Jacksonville is one of the southeast's foremost trauma
hospitals and by using the Rhodes Procedure on MRI's of 1,000 emergency
room accident patients the study team is able to measure and observe
results. The procedure and the study is non-invasive and poses no
health risks to any of the volunteers.
Dr.
Rhodes is also involved in the follow-up treatment program for patients
who have received whiplash injuries and suffer pain for more than
4 weeks afterwards.
